Because God Has Accepted Them…】

English follows

【Scripture】“So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?””Acts 11:17 NIV

【Observation】For the Jews of that time, it was unthinkable to even enter the homes of Gentiles, let alone eat with them. This was because they believed that Jews were holy, while Gentiles were unclean. However, Gentiles also received the gift of the Holy Spirit. This must have been a tremendous surprise to the Jews. They had thought the Holy Spirit was given only to themselves—who were holy—yet the gifts of the Holy Spirit were given even to Gentiles, whom they considered unclean. God accepted the Gentiles—and He did so in a way that left no room for argument.

【Application】Since all people are accepted in Christ, I must not think, “That person is unacceptable.”

【Prayer】Lord, I, too, sometimes find myself thinking, “That person is not accepted.” I am rejecting those whom God has accepted. I repent. May I never reject brothers and sisters who do not fit my own preferences. May I accept my brothers and sisters just as You accept them. 🙏
