【御言葉】20 これらの災害によって殺されなかった、人間の残りの者たちは、悔い改めて自分たちの手で造った物から離れるということをせず、悪霊どもや、金、銀、銅、石、木で造られた偶像、すなわち見ることも聞くことも歩くこともできないものを、拝み続けた。21 また彼らは、自分たちが行っている殺人、魔術、淫らな行いや盗みを悔い改めなかった。ヨハネの黙示録 9章 20〜21節

【観察】ここに人がいかに偶像に執着しているか、また創造主なる神に立ち返ることがいかに難しいかを見る。人は神から罰せられても悔い改めない。自分はどうだろう？自分も以前は偶像礼拝をしていた。しかし、神の憐れみにより、自分は唯一の創造主に立ち返った。人が悔い改め、救われるのは、ただただ神の御業である。

【適用】人が悔い改めるとは神の御業である。どんな救いも当たり前と思わす、神の奇跡だと信じる。

【祈り】主よ、あなたに立ち返ることがどんなに難しいことか。人はどんなに苦しめられても、悔い改めないのです。それほど、私達人間は頑なです。人が神に立ち返るのはあなたの御業であり、奇跡であると信じます。あなたが毎週日曜日に救われる人を起こしてくださいます。あなたの奇跡に感謝します。🙏

【Scripture】Revelation 9:20-21 NIV[20] The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. [21] Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

【Observation】Here we see how deeply people cling to idols and how difficult it is for them to return to God, the Creator. Even when punished by God, people do not repent.What about me?I, too, used to practice idolatry. However, by God’s mercy, I turned back to the one and only Creator. It is solely God’s work when a person repents and is saved.

【Application】When a person repents, it is God’s work. I believe that any salvation is a miracle from God—one that should never be taken for granted.

【Prayer】Lord, how difficult it is to turn back to You. No matter how much people suffer, they do not repent. That is how stubborn we humans are. I believe that when a person turns back to God, it is Your work and a miracle. I pray that You will raise up people to be saved every Sunday. I give thanks for Your miracles. 🙏
