【善を行なって、苦しみを受けた主が私達の模範 The Lord, Who Suffered for Doing Good, Is Our Example】

【御言葉】20 罪を犯して打ちたたかれ、それを耐え忍んでも、何の誉れになるでしょう。しかし、善を行って苦しみを受け、それを耐え忍ぶなら、それは神の御前に喜ばれることです。21 このためにこそ、あなたがたは召されました。キリストも、あなたがたのために苦しみを受け、その足跡に従うようにと、あなたがたに模範を残された。ペテロの手紙第一 2章 20〜21節
【観察】「私には無理！」と言うのが最初の反応だった。善を行なって、批判され、苦しみを受け、不当な扱いを耐え忍ぶなら、それは神が喜ばれることだと言う。確かにイエス様も善だけを行なったのに蔑まれ、鞭打たれ、殺された。それは私達への模範であり、そのために私達は召されていると聖書は言っている。つまり、どんなことがあったとしても、逆らわず、無言で善を行い続けよと言うことだ。
【適用】私は善を行えば、人から賞賛されると思っていた。それは間違いだ。私達は善を行なっても、人から誤解され、不当な扱いを受け、批判される。善を行う動機は人の評価ではなく、神を喜ばせることなのだ。
【祈り】主よ、あなたも善だけを行なったのに苦しみに遭いました。あなたに従う私達も人から理解されず、不当な扱いを受けることがあります。自分の正しさを主張せず、耐え忍ぶのは嫌です。しかし、あなたは黙り、十字架に進まれました。主よ、私もあなたのように、神の喜ぶことを行うことが出来ますように。🙏
【Scripture】1 Peter 2:20-21 NIV[20] But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. [21] To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
【Observation】My first reaction was, “I can’t do that!” It says that if we do good, face criticism, suffer, and endure unfair treatment, this is pleasing to God. Indeed, even though Jesus did nothing but good, He was despised, flogged, and killed. The Bible tells us that this is an example for us, and that this is why we have been called. In other words, it means that no matter what happens, we are to continue doing good without resistance and in silence.
【Application】I used to think that if I did good, people would praise me. That is a mistake. Even when we do good, we may be misunderstood, treated unfairly, and criticized by others. Our motivation for doing good is not to earn people’s approval, but to please God.
【Prayer】Lord, even though You did only good, You suffered. We who follow You may also be misunderstood by others and treated unfairly. I don’t want to endure this without asserting my own righteousness. Yet You remained silent and went to the cross. Lord, may I, like You, do what pleases God. 🙏
