【自分の生き様で語れ！Let Your Life Speak for Itself!】

【御言葉】1 私の兄弟たち、多くの人が教師になってはいけません。あなたがたが知っているように、私たち教師は、より厳しいさばきを受けます。13 あなたがたのうちで、知恵があり、分別のある人はだれでしょうか。その人はその知恵にふさわしい柔和な行いを、立派な生き方によって示しなさい。ヤコブの手紙 3章1, 13節

【観察】舌によって、私達は多くの失敗をする者だ。ではどうすれば、良いのだろうか。それは13節にあるように自分の生き方、生き様を通して語れと言われている。私は以前、マザーテレサの働きに関わったことがあるが、そのシスター達を見た時、彼らは私に「主に仕えよ」とか「これこれのことをせよ」とか何も言わなかったが、すべてを捨てて従うこととは何なのかを語られた。口ではなく、生き方で周りの人に語れと言うことなのだ。

【適用】私の生き方を見て、人は何を聞くのだろう。口先だけで、中身のない人生となっていないだろうか。口をつぐみ、御言葉を素直に実践しよう。

【祈り】主よ、私の人生を人が見ても、キリスト教を信仰している人くらいにしか映っていないと思います。自分の生き様を人が見て、語られるような本物の信仰者としてください。私が何も言わなくても、「あの人はキリストの弟子なんだな。」と語られるよう、御言葉を実践する者にしてください。🙏

【Scripture】James 3:1, 13 NIV[1] Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. [13] Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

【Observation】We often stumble because of our tongues. So what should we do? As verse 13 tells us, we are called to speak through our way of life—through how we live.I was once involved in Mother Teresa’s ministry, and when I saw those sisters, they never said to me, “Serve the Lord” or “Do this or that,” yet they showed me what it means to forsake everything and follow Him.This means we are to speak to those around us not with our words, but through the way we live.

【Application】What do people hear when they look at the way I live? Have I become a person whose life consists only of empty words, lacking substance? Let us keep our mouths shut and humbly put Your Word into practice.

【Prayer】Lord, I think that when people look at my life, I appear to them as nothing more than someone who claims to be a Christian. Please make me a true believer whose way of life speaks for itself. Make me someone who puts Your Word into practice, so that even without me saying a word, people will say, “That person is a disciple of Christ.” 🙏
