October 23rd: Not to a Person’s Mind, but to Their Spirit】
English follows
【Scripture】“When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this subject.” ”Acts 17:32 NIV
【Observation】Whether in the past or today, when people hear about the “resurrection of the dead,” most would probably find it hard to believe at first. It surprises me that I myself actually believe in the resurrection of the dead. I haven’t seen the resurrection of the dead with my own eyes, but I believe it will certainly happen. That’s because what is to come is clearly written in the Bible. Well, of course, for those who don’t believe the Bible is the Word of God, this means nothing.
【Application】To begin with, the Gospel was not designed to be something people can understand. This is because the Gospel calls on all people to give up their own thoughts and beliefs and accept God’s truth and ideas. Therefore, when we share the Gospel, let us not appeal to a person’s intellect, but speak to their spirit.
【Prayer】Lord, Your truth is beyond our understanding. Even if I tell those who do not believe in You about the resurrection of the dead, it is impossible for them to understand it with their minds. May I speak to them about the resurrection of the dead, not to their minds, but to their spirits and souls. May You work in ways that go beyond their understanding. 🙏
