【御言葉】11 パリサイ人は立って、心の中でこんな祈りをした。『神よ。私がほかの人たちのように、奪い取る者、不正な者、姦淫する者でないこと、あるいは、この取税人のようでないことを感謝します。12 私は週に二度断食し、自分が得ているすべてのものから、十分の一を献げております。』13 一方、取税人は遠く離れて立ち、目を天に向けようともせず、自分の胸をたたいて言った。『神様、罪人の私をあわれんでください。』ルカの福音書 18章 11〜13節
【観察】人は自分が上だと思った瞬間、他の人を下げてしまう。私達はイエス様の例え話を読む時、なぜか自分を正しい立場側に置く傾向がある。この例え話を読んでも、自分は取税人だと思ってしまう。しかし、本当はどうだろう。ニュースを見れば、犯罪者にあふれている。私は良い行いをそれほどしてはいないが、犯罪という悪いことはしていない。だから、自分と彼らを比べて、自分は上だと思っていないだろうか。もしそう思っているのなら、私もパリサイ人と同じである。
【適用】神は私達の心を見られ、へりくだっている人を憐れまれる。だから、自分の心が高慢になっていないか、人と比べて上下をつけていないかをチェックする。
【祈り】主よ、私はへりくだりたくありません。人より上に立って、価値ある者となりたいのです。しかし、上に立っても、下になっても、私の価値はあなたにあって変わらないことを深く教えてください。あなたは私の心をいつも見ておられており、あの取税人のようにいつもへりくだっていられますように。🙏

I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. 【Observation】The moment a person thinks they are superior, they end up looking down on others. When we read Jesus’ parables, for some reason we tend to place ourselves on the “right” side. Even when reading this parable, we end up thinking of ourselves as the tax collector.But what is the truth? If we watch the news, it is full of criminals. I haven’t done that many good deeds, but I haven’t committed any crimes either. So, am I comparing myself to them and thinking I’m better than they are? If I’m thinking that, then I’m just like the Pharisee.
【Application】God sees into our hearts and has mercy on those who are humble. Therefore, I will examine my heart to see if it has become proud or if I’m ranking people as superior or inferior.
【Prayer】Lord, I do not want to be humble. I want to stand above others and be considered valuable.But please teach me deeply that whether I stand above or below others, my value lies in You and remains unchanged. May You always see my heart, and may I always remain humble, just like that tax collector. 🙏
