【良い業を行う Doing Good Deeds】

【御言葉】3 私たちも以前は、愚かで、不従順で、迷っていた者であり、いろいろな欲望と快楽の奴隷になり、悪意とねたみのうちに生活し、人から憎まれ、互いに憎み合う者でした。8 このことばは真実です。私は、あなたがこれらのことを、確信をもって語るように願っています。神を信じるようになった人々が、良いわざに励むことを心がけるようになるためです。これらのことは良いことであり、人々に有益です。テトスへの手紙 3章 3, 8節

【観察】確かにキリストを信じる前は平然と嘘をつき、欲望の奴隷となり、人を騙し、盗みを働いていた。私はキリストを信じた後、それらの悪いことはやらなくなった。聖書は神を信じる者は悪い行いを止めるだけでなく、良い業に励めと言われている。果たして私は良い業に励んでいるだろうか。良い業という点において、自分は未信者と余り変わらないのではないか。

【適用】神からの愛を受ける。

【祈り】主よ、私は愛のない者です。あなたを信じているのに良い業がほとんどありません。そして、もし私が良い業をしたとしても、心が伴わなければ、それも虚しいです。ですから、あなたの愛を私に増し加えてください。あなたの愛を動機として、良い業を行うことが出来ますように。🙏

【Scripture】Titus 3:3, 8 NIV[3] At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. [8] This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

【Observation】It is true that before I believed in Christ, I lied without hesitation, was a slave to my desires, deceived others, and stole.After I came to believe in Christ, I stopped doing those evil things. The Bible tells us that those who believe in God should not only stop doing evil deeds but also strive to do good works. Am I truly striving to do good works? When it comes to good works, am I not much the same as an unbeliever?

【Application】Receive God’s love.

【Prayer】Lord, I am a person without love. Even though I believe in You, I do very few good deeds. And even if I do perform good deeds, they are meaningless if my heart isn’t in your love. Therefore, please increase Your love within me. May I be able to perform good deeds motivated by Your love. 🙏
