【神の御心にあった生き方が出来ますように。 May I Live in a Way That Pleases God】

【御言葉】12 さあ、家に帰りなさい。あなたの足が町に入るとき、その子は死にます。13 全イスラエルがその子のために悼み悲しんで葬るでしょう。ヤロブアムの家の者で墓に葬られるのは、彼だけです。ヤロブアムの家の中で、彼だけに、イスラエルの神、主のみこころにかなうことがあったからです。列王記第一 14章 12〜13節

【観察】聖書には神の御心にかなっている子どもが人生の早い段階で天に召されることがある。これをどう解釈すれば良いのだろう？この世的には長く生きた者が幸せで、早く死ぬ者は不幸せだという考えがある。しかし、聖書はみんなに看取られて、墓に葬られる方が良いという。と言うことはこの子以外のヤロブアムの家の者達は、墓に葬られず、死体はその辺に転がっていたことになる。つまり、聖書では生きた年数が長いことが良いのではなく、私達の人生の終わりがどうかということがもっと大切なのだ。

【適用】私達夫婦には子どもがいない。自分の人生の終わりを考え、家族、親戚、友達との関係を大切にし、御心にあった生き方をする。

【祈り】主よ、私も誰かに看取られ、墓に入りたいです。私が人との関係を大切にすることが出来ますように。またあなたの御心に合った生き方が出来ますように。🙏

【Scripture】1 Kings 14:12-13 NIV[12] “As for you, go back home. When you set foot in your city, the boy will die. [13] All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only one belonging to Jeroboam who will be buried, because he is the only one in the house of Jeroboam in whom the Lord, the God of Israel, has found anything good.

【Observation】The Bible tells us that children who are pleasing to God are sometimes called to heaven at an early stage in life. How should we interpret this? In this world, there is a common belief that those who live long are happy, while those who die young are unhappy. However, the Bible teaches that it is better to be laid to rest in a grave with those who mourn you. This implies that the other members of Jeroboam’s household were not buried in graves, but their bodies were left lying around. In other words, the Bible teaches that it is not the length of one’s life that matters, but rather how one’s life ends.

【Application】My wife and I do not have children. I will reflect on the end of my life, cherish my relationships with family, relatives, and friends, and live in a way that pleases Him.

【Prayer】Lord, I too want to be watched over by someone and laid to rest in a grave. Please help me to cherish my relationships with others. Also, please help me to live in a way that pleases You. 🙏
