YOU ARE THE BEARER OF THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS

SCRIPTURE:

“For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” 16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”  17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”  (Romans 10:12—17)

OBSERVATION:

         Paul makes a compelling argument saying that there is NO DIFFERENCE between Jew and Gentiles. They all must come to the Lord in faith.  Paul is saying there is ONLY one Lord of all who richly blesses all WHO CALL IN ON HIM.  God so loved the world that whosoever believes in him shall have eternal life.  The keywords to understand are “no difference,” the “same Lord of all,” and “richly blesses ALL who call on him.” 

         God’s blessing of salvation is richly and equally available to “ALL” who called on the name of the Lord.  Salvation is for everyone, and anyone can be saved, whether Jew or Gentile; however, that will only happen to those who “CALL” on the Lord. 

         God’s love brings salvation, but unless I respond to his love that is richly available to “ALL,” nothing will happen.  I am also reminded by Paul’s words when he said: “EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”  God’s desire is that everyone come to repentance and receive eternal life.

         But how can everyone be saved? Paul asked, How can people call?  How can they believe it?  How can they hear unless someone is preaching to them?  But how can they preach if they are not sent? 

         I am reminded of my role to be a person who is willing to, whose feet are quick, and ready to be someone who brings the GOOD NEWS to those who have not heard so their faith may be in God’s word and be saved.  What an honor to be someone who brings the Good News of Jesus to so many who have not come to know him.  I am reminded again and again as I meditate on these questions that Paul posted.  God loves everyone and desires that they may be saved, but God also needs those who are saved to be the bearer of the Good News so that the faith of others may be in Christ.  We have work to do as Jesus’ followers. 

APPLICATION:

         I want to make this my first priority in life to be a bearer of the good news of God’s love for all who call on his name.  I know I must do more to reach as many people as I can with the good news of Jesus’ salvation.  I want to prioritize this in my journey with Jesus.  I want to continue to be a vessel that carries the good news of Christ to all that I come across. 

PRAYER:

         Jesus, help me to take this assignment seriously, to bring the good news to all around me.  I ask that your anointing continues to fall on me and help me take the good news of your love and salvation to all.  I ask that you lead and guide me to those that have not heard.  Please open my eyes to see people as you see them.  Amen!
