NOTHING CAN STOP THE POWER OF JESUS WORD
SCRIPTURE:
“The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. 63 “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive, that deceiver said, ‘After three days, I will rise again.’ 64 So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.” 65 “Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.” (Matthew 27:62—66)
OBSERVATION:
The chief priests and the Pharisees still feared a dead man coming back to life. They remembered that while Jesus was still alive, He said, ‘After three days, I will rise again.’ Jesus’ words have power that even when he was confirmed dead by the soldiers, the chief priests and the Pharisees still ‘REMEMBER’ what He said, “I WILL RISE AGAIN.!”
This message of Jesus must be remembered in my heart always. There is nothing that will keep the truth from happening. Like, the chief priests, Pharisees, and Pilate, nothing will stop the power of Christ’s words from accomplishing what it was meant to accomplish. The authorities feared that what Jesus said would come true.
Nothing can silence the power of Christ’s word and what he said. The fact that the chief priests, Pharisees, were so concerned is that they remembered what Christ said. The word of Christ is powerful even with those who are against him. I am reminded today to REMEMBER THE WORDS OF CHRIST. Christ said I WILL RISE AGAIN. The religious leaders remember and fear what might happen.
But I must remember that Christ’s power and words will always perform what it was intended to do. Nothing can stop Jesus’ words from performing what it was sent out to do. I must remember Christ’s words with a great sense of hope and power. The chief priests and the Pharisees remembered what Christ said and were moved to fear. We must remember the words of Christ and be moved to hope. Christ’s words have power. Nothing can stop it. No army can stop it; no secured tomb can stop it, and no tomb guard can KEEP THE WORD OF LIFE from going forward.
APPLICATION:
I am reminded today of the power of the words of Christ that can haunt those who do not believe and affirm the faith of those who love him. I want to remember the power of Jesus in my daily life. Jesus’ words are uncontainable and cannot be silenced. Jesus’ words stay in the minds of those who hate him and move them to fear. I want to remember the power of Jesus’ words that moves me to hope and know that his word will always accomplish what it was sent out to do. Nothing will stop the word of God from accomplishing and achieving its purpose. I want to remember the power of Jesus’ words that give hope and power in my life daily.
PRAYER:
Jesus, your words are power. Nothing can stop your word from accomplishing what you intend to do and hope to accomplish. I pray that I will always remember the affirming power of your word daily in my life. Thank you that your word builds faith. I pray that my mind dwells on your words daily. I ask that you create in me a heart that loves and obey your word. Please help me to hear your word daily and obey it. Amen!
