Should We Entrust Them Despite Their Problems?】
English follows
【Scripture】[14] Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. [15] He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Mark 16:14-15 NIV
【Observation】Jesus rebuked the eleven disciples for their unbelief and hardness of heart. What is remarkable is that He did not say, “Because you are like this, I cannot entrust you with the important Great Commission,” but instead immediately gave them the Great Commission. What does this mean? It means that God does not use perfect people, but trusts and entrusts tasks to those who have their own struggles.
【Application】Rather than looking at a person’s flaws and withholding responsibility because they seem untrustworthy, we should point out their flaws while still placing our trust in them.
【Prayer】Lord, what You do is always mysterious. You entrusted the vital Great Commission to imperfect disciples.Lord, I, too, have the same unbelief and stubbornness as those disciples. Yet, why do You trust me? I cannot understand it. But because You trust me, I am able to grow. I thank You for Your patience. 🙏
