English follows

【Scripture】“Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.”Acts 1:24–26 NIV

【Observation】Judas Iscariot had died. The disciples were looking for someone to take his place as an apostle. Because the office of an apostle is so important, the apostles decided to let God choose the person. Here, the apostles’ prayer caught my attention. They prayed, “Lord, you know the hearts of all people.” The apostles knew that it was best for God—who knows the hearts of all people—to make the decision.

【Application】My knowledge is limited; I certainly cannot see into people’s hearts. However, since God knows everyone’s heart, it is best to ask Him.

【Prayer】God, who knows all things, I believe that You have the best answer. Therefore, I will not rely on my own understanding, but I will listen to You and follow You. Please guide me, for I am prone to wander. 🙏
