WORSHIP IS ABOUT THE WORTH OF JESUS

SCRIPTURE:

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”  11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”  13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” 14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” (Revelation 7:9—14)

OBSERVATION:

John saw in heaven a great multitude that NO one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and languages standing before the throne and before the Lamb.  These multitude of people were wearing white robes with palm branches in their hands.  Worship of Jesus that we have and see here on earth is only a rehearsal of what it will be when we are before Jesus as He is.  Worship is really not about my feelings and emotions. Feelings and emotions are vehicles that transport and relay the truth that I hold about Jesus.  It is not about singing and rhythms to make me feel good, but to express the worth of who Jesus is.  Worship is not focusing inward but outward toward Jesus.

People in their white robes from every nation, tribe, people and language and palm branches were singing about the worth of Jesus.  Jesus taught that the time is coming that the Father is seeking worshippers who worship in Spirit and in Truth.  Meaning, my worship is directed by the Spirit of God to express truth to the worth of Jesus.  Jesus is to be worship.

The worshippers cried out in a loud voice.  It’s so beautiful when worship ascribe how worthy Jesus is and what he has done for us.  John saw and heard how worship is done in heaven.  The loud voices of people from every nation, tribe, people, and language moved angels and elders to fall on their faces before the throne and worshipped God.  This is what is happening when we gathered here on earth and worship Jesus, Heaven moved.  This is powerful reminder of how we worship and why we worship.  Heaven move when earth worship and express the worth of Christ.

Our worship moved heaven when we ascribe the worth of Jesus singing; Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.    The angels and the elders before the throne in agreement saying; AMEN! PRAISE AND GLORY, AND WISDOM AND THANKS AND HONOR AND POWER AND STRENGTH BE TO OUR GOD FOREVER AND EVER AMEN!

Wow, earth, and heaven worship Jesus together in such a unison of voices in adoration of the worth of Jesus.  This to me is what worship must sounds like, feels like that move not only my Sunday worship but move my own time of worship before Jesus.  Worship is a powerful moment when the whole body of Jesus declare his worth in unison and with a loud voice together to the glory of Christ.  This is the worship that the Father seeks from worshippers.

APPLICATION:

What a reminder of how I must worship in private and public.  Worship is powerful Jesus is being honor.  The Angels and the elders reminded me of what true worship is by the way they ascribe to Christ.  They ascribe glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power and strength to our God forever and ever Amen!  Worship is ascribing to Jesus what the angels and the elders are doing here before the throne of God.  I am reminded to pattern my worship attitude as the angel and the elders did.  I desire to worship Jesus in this among other believers and in my own life.

PRAYER:

Jesus, thank you for reminding me of what it is to be a worshipper that the Father seeks.  I don’t want to bring to you praises that just comes out of my emotions and feelings without truly being affected by your Spirit within me.  Teach me how to worship you in Spirit and in Truth.  I ask you to show me more of ways to honor you in my life as a worshipper.  Teach me to humble myself when I come before you in worship.  Lead me to be a true worshipper of you, Amen!
