【敵を愛すという戦い The Battle of Loving One’s Enemy】

【御言葉】”そこで、王は彼らのために盛大なもてなしをして、彼らが食べたり飲んだりした後、彼らを帰した。こうして彼らは自分たちの主君のもとに戻って行った。それ以来、アラムの略奪隊は二度とイスラエルの地に侵入しなかった。”列王記第二 6章 23節

【観察】ここに普通とは違う戦いが書かれている。普通の戦いでは相手が打ち負かされるまで、相手を攻撃する。しかし、主の戦いは違う。敵を愛するのだ。敵をもてなし、食べ物や飲み物を与え、そして解放した。結果はどうだろうか？彼らは二度とイスラエルの地に侵入しなかった。つまり、彼らを打ち滅ぼすのと同じ効果があったということだ。私達の戦いは敵を愛す戦いである。

【適用】主の戦いは敵を愛すことなので、自分も自分の敵を愛す。

【祈り】主よ、私には私が苦手としている人達と働く機会が与えられています。そのような環境に私を置かれたのは、あなたです。私は置かれた場所に踏み止まり、彼らを愛さなければなりません。「敵を愛す」という実践は私にとって、難しいです。私には彼らを愛したい気もないのです。あなたの心で彼らを見ることが出来ますように。🙏

【Scripture】2 Kings 6:23 NIV[23] So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory.

【Observation】This passage describes a battle unlike any other. In a typical battle, one attacks the enemy until they are defeated. But the Lord’s battle is different. It involves loving the enemy. They were entertained, given food and drink, and then set free. What was the result?They never again invaded the land of Israel. In other words, this had the same effect as completely destroying them. Our battle is a battle to love our enemies.

【Application】Since the Lord’s battle is to love our enemies, I too will love my enemies.

【Prayer】Lord, I have been given the opportunity to work with people I find difficult to get along with. It is You who have placed me in this situation. I must stand firm where I am and love them. Putting “loving my enemies” into practice is difficult for me. I don’t even feel like loving them. Please help me to see them through Your eyes. 🙏
