【躓きを取り除くのは愛 Love Removes Stumbling Blocks】

【御言葉】12 あなたがたはこのように兄弟たちに対して罪を犯し、彼らの弱い良心を傷つけるとき、キリストに対して罪を犯しているのです。13 ですから、食物が私の兄弟をつまずかせるのなら、兄弟をつまずかせないために、私は今後、決して肉を食べません。コリント人への手紙第一 8章 12, 13節

【観察】私は肉を食べることも、お酒を飲むことも、タバコを吸うことも、罪ではないと思っている。（もちろん私はそれらのことをしないが。）しかし、もし私のある行為で他の兄弟姉妹が躓かせるなら、私は彼らに対して罪を犯しており、キリストに対しても罪を犯していることになる。パウロは13節で決して肉を食べないと宣言している。躓かせないことはその人達を愛することなのだ。

【適用】愛を動機として、人を躓かせる行為をやめる。その場を盛り上げるために、人をからかうことをやめる。

【祈り】主よ、私はその場を盛り上げるために、人をからかったり、下げたりしていました。それは愛ではありません。赦してください。私の心を、人を高める言葉で満たし、人の徳を高める者と変えてください。🙏

【Scripture】1 Corinthians 8:12-13 NIV[12] When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. [13] Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.

【Observation】I do not consider eating meat, drinking alcohol, or smoking to be sins. (Of course, I do not do these things) However, if my actions cause other brothers and sisters to stumble, I am sinning against them, and I am also sinning against Christ.In verse 13, Paul declares that he will never eat meat again. Not causing others to stumble is an act of love toward them.

【Application】Motivated by love, I will stop doing things that cause others to stumble. I will stop teasing people just to liven up the atmosphere.

【Prayer】Lord, I have teased and belittled people just to liven up the atmosphere. That was not love. Please forgive me. Fill my heart with words that build others up, and transform me into someone who exalts others. 🙏
