TITLE: MY GOD IS EVER PRESENT IN EVERY MOMENT OF MY LIFE
SCRIPTURE:
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”(Psalms 46:1-11 NIV)
OBSERVATION:
As wonderful as life is, there are times when troubles comes like a storm invading our lives. It is not that we do not know about troubles. We are well aware of troubles in life. But the challenges it’s when them come and catches us unaware, we are at a sense of loss and our world turns upside down. It was so with the psalmist who wrote this wonderful piece of encouragement.
He started out by saying, God is our refuge and ever-present help in time of troubles. Our God is our refuge and ever-present help in time of troubles. These words comforts my heart. I don’t have to imagine God as my refuge and ever present help in time of troubles. The writer said, HE IS, our refuge and present help. He IS, present always even before things started to shake in my life.
The Psalmist then said; Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
Compare the quaking earth, the mountains fall into the sea, and the waters foam and surging roaring to a city where God is. The river is calm, it makes glad the city where God dwells. What a beautiful picture of our life when we realized we do not have to fear the happenings of the world as it quakes and shakes.
The Psalmist reminds us that where God is, there is calmness. He continued saying; There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Our Heavenly Father is present, ever present with us. He is within us. He is our keeper. The Lord Almighty is with us. He is our fortress. Our God is working his purpose among the nations. He ends wars, and He controls activities among the nations.
Therefore we must NOT fear. I must learn how to be STILL and KNOW that my God IS my refuge and ever present help in time of need. I must be still and know that He is my God, the Lord Almighty, the God of Jacob, our fortress is with us. What an encouragement today as my God speaks his word of assurance into my heart today.
It doesn’t matter how troubles arises and roar. I must never allowed the troubles that I see shake my confidence in my ever present help who is my fortress and shield.
APPLICATION:
I take this to heart today and remind myself that my Heavenly Father is worthy of my trust. No matter how things are in my life, I must not fear, because he is PRESENT. When life troubles roar, I must remain confident of the ever Present Father who loves me and have me covered.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I am grateful that you are ever present with me in every moment of my life. You are with me when life seems unbearable. You are with me when life is calm. There is never a moment when you are not presen with me. I am grateful to be your child. Thank you for reminding me that you are here and you sees me. Thank you for being my fortress throughout my life. You have been good to me. I am forever grateful. In Jesus name, Amen!
