【天からの使命と賜物を知ること! To Know Your Mission and Gift from Heaven!】

【御言葉】26 彼らはヨハネのところに来て言った。「先生。ヨルダンの川向こうで先生と一緒にいて、先生が証しされたあの方が、なんと、バプテスマを授けておられます。そして、皆があの方のほうに行っています。」27 ヨハネは答えた。「人は、天から与えられるのでなければ、何も受けることができません。30 あの方は盛んになり、私は衰えなければなりません。」ヨハネの福音書 3章 26〜27, 30節
【観察】バプテスマのヨハネは自分の弟子達から、イエス様の方に人々が流れていることを報告した。そして、バプテスマのヨハネが最初に言った言葉「人は天から与えられたものだけを受け取る。」と語った。それは天の父がイエス様に与えるものと自分が受けるものの違いを知っていたからだ。そして、30節のイエス様は栄え、自分は衰えるという言葉に繋がる。もしバプテスマのヨハネが天の父が与えた使命と賜物を知らなかったら、イエス様と自分を比べ、イエス様にライバル心を抱いたことだろう。私達も天からいただく自分の使命と賜物を知らなければ、容易に人と自分を比べ、嫉妬する者となるだろう。
【適用】自分に与えられた天からの使命と賜物を知る。
【祈り】主よ、私があなたからの使命と賜物を知らなければ、直ぐに人と比べ、相手の優れたところに目を向け、自分にないことを嘆き、その相手に嫉妬する。何とみじめな考え方でしょうか。そのためにもあなたからの使命と賜物を知ることが出来ますように。他の人がどうあれ、バプテスマのヨハネのように、あなたからの使命に生きることが出来ますように。🙏
【Scripture】John 3:26-27, 30 NIV[26] They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”[27] To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. [30] He must become greater; I must become less.”
【Observation】John the Baptist was told by his disciples that people were flocking to Jesus. John the Baptist began by saying, “A person can receive nothing unless it is given from heaven.” He said this because he understood the difference between what the Heavenly Father gave to Jesus and what he himself received. This leads to his statement in verse 30: “He must increase, but I must decrease.”If John the Baptist had not known the mission and gifts given to him by the Heavenly Father, he would have compared himself to Jesus and felt a sense of rivalry toward Him.Likewise, if we do not know the mission and gifts we have received from heaven, we will easily compare ourselves to others and become envious.
【Application】Recognize the mission and gifts given to you from heaven.
【Prayer】Lord, if I do not know the mission and gifts You have given me, I will immediately compare myself to others, focus on their strengths, lament what I lack, and become jealous of them. What a miserable way of thinking that is.For this reason, please help me to know the mission and gifts You have given me.No matter what others do, may I live out the mission You have given me, just as John the Baptist did. 🙏
