【12軍団を使わなかったイエス様 Jesus, Who Did Not Use the Twelve Legions】

【御言葉】53 それとも、わたしが父にお願いして、十二軍団よりも多くの御使いを、今すぐわたしの配下に置いていただくことが、できないと思うのですか。54 しかし、それでは、こうならなければならないと書いてある聖書が、どのようにして成就するのでしょう。」マタイの福音書 26章 53〜54節

【観察】ここでハッキリしていることはイエス様は天の父にお願いすれば、天の12軍団（一レギオン6000人×12=72,000人）を支配下に置くことが出来たし、十字架を回避することも出来たことだ。この地上の全世界の軍隊が立ち向かっても、天の12軍団には勝てないだろう。イエス様は天の12軍団を使うことが出来た。しかし、イエス様は彼らを使わなかった。イエス様は十字架にかからないことも選ぶことが出来たのに、十字架にかかることを選ばれ、死に至るまで十字架に留まったということだ。イエス様は十字架を避けれなかったのではなく、むしろ故意に意志をもって、十字架にかかった。それは何故か？それは天の父に対する愛であり、また私達に対する愛が動機だったからだ。

【適用】イエス様が死に至るまで十字架に留まり、12軍団を使わなかったことに感謝する。

【祈り】イエス様、死ぬことは愛です。私もあなたの愛ゆえに、喜んで意志をもって自我に死ぬことを選びます。今日もあなたへの愛を増し加えてください。🙏

【Scripture】Matthew 26:53-54 NIV[53] Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? [54] But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

【Observation】What is clear here is that if Jesus had asked His Father in heaven, He could have brought the twelve legions of heaven (one legion of 6,000 men × 12 = 72,000 men) under His command and avoided the cross. Even if all the armies of the world on earth were to stand against them, they could not defeat the twelve legions of heaven. Jesus could have used the twelve legions of heaven. Yet, He did not use them. Although He could have chosen not to be crucified, He chose to be crucified and remained on the cross until death. It was not that Jesus could not avoid the cross; rather, He went to the cross intentionally and of His own will. Why was that?It was because His motivation was love for the Father in heaven and love for us.

【Application】I am grateful that Jesus remained on the cross until death and did not use the twelve legions.

【Prayer】Jesus, dying is love. Because of Your love, I too joyfully and willingly choose to die to my self. Please increase my love for You today. 🙏
