【どっちに従う？ Which Should We Obey?】

【御言葉】17 すから、どう思われるか、お聞かせください。カエサルに税金を納めることは律法にかなっているでしょうか、いないでしょうか。」22 彼らは「カエサルのです」と言った。そのときイエスは言われた。「それなら、カエサルのものはカエサルに、神のものは神に返しなさい。」マタイの福音書 22章 17, 21節

【観察】このパリサイ人の問いは今の私達にも語られている。私達はこの世のルールに従うのか、それとも神のルールに従うのか、どっちに従うのかという問いである。イエス様の答えは明白だ。その両方である。この世が私達に与える責任は果たし、それと同時に、神が私達に与えられる神の栄光は神に返せと言っているのだ。

【適用】私に与えられた社会的責任は果たしつつ、すべてを神に返していく。

【祈り】主よ、私はこの社会に生きているので、その一員として、社会的責任を果たします。それと同時にすべてはあなたから与えられていると信じ、すべてをあなたにお返しします。私の持ち物は何一つないことを宣言します。主は与え、また主は取られます。それでも、私には乏しいことがないことを感謝します。🙏

【Scripture】Matthew 22:17, 21 NIV[17] Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?”[21] “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

【Observation】This question from the Pharisees speaks to us today as well. It asks whether we should follow the rules of this world or the rules of God—which path should we choose?Jesus’ answer is clear: both. He tells us to fulfill the responsibilities this world places upon us, and at the same time, to return to God the glory that He has given us.

【Application】I will fulfill the social responsibilities entrusted to me, while returning everything to God.

【Prayer】Lord, since I live in this society, I will fulfill my social responsibilities as a member of it. At the same time, believing that everything is given by You, I return everything to You. I declare that I possess nothing of my own. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Even so, I am grateful that I lack nothing. 🙏
