【目を離すな！ Don’t Take Your Eyes Off Him!】

【御言葉】”ところが強風を見て怖くなり、沈みかけたので、「主よ、助けてください」と叫んだ。”マタイの福音書 14章 30節

【観察】ペテロは目立ちたがり屋だ。弟子達の中でも直ぐに発言し、他の弟子達より目立とうとする。この時も自分は他の弟子達より自分が信仰があることを見せつけたかったのかもしれない。始めはイエス様を見て水の上を歩いていたが、強風を見て怖くなり、沈みかけ、イエス様に助けを求めた。ここで学べることはイエス様から目を離さないなら不安定なところも歩ける、イエス様から目を離すなら、沈んでしまうことだ。

【適用】どんな時にもイエス様から目を離さない。

【祈り】主よ、私はあなたからすぐ目を離し、あなたではなく状況を見てしまい、溺れてしまうのです。あなたは私に「来なさい」と言われます。あなたが呼ばれるなら、どんなに不安定な状況でもその上を歩けると信じます。そのために、絶えずあなたから目を離さないことが出来ますように。今日もあなたを見上げます。🙏

【Scripture】Matthew 14:30 NIV[30] But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

【Observation】Peter is a show-off. Among the disciples, he is quick to speak up and tries to stand out more than the others. Perhaps even at this moment, he wanted to show that he had more faith than the other disciples. At first, he was walking on the water while looking at Jesus, but when he saw the strong wind, he became afraid, began to sink, and called out to Jesus for help.What I can learn here is that if I keep my eyes on Jesus, I can walk even on unstable ground; but if I take my eyes off Jesus, I will sink.

【Application】Never take my eyes off Jesus, no matter what.

【Prayer】Lord, I quickly take my eyes off You and end up looking at the situation instead of You, and I start to drown.You spoke me, “Come.” I believe that if You call me, I can walk on even the most unstable situations. For that reason, please help me to never take my eyes off You. Today, I will look up to You.🙏
