【バカバカしいと思っても Even If It Seems Ridiculous】

【御言葉】”民はときの声をあげ、祭司たちは角笛を吹き鳴らした。角笛の音を聞いて民が大声でときの声をあげると、城壁は崩れ落ちた。そこで民はそれぞれ、まっすぐに攻め上り、その町を攻め取り、”ヨシュア記 6章 20節

【観察】エリコの町は強固な城壁で囲まれていた。それも城壁の中に家があったくらいだから、とても厚い城壁だったと想像する。普通に攻撃したら、イスラエルの民は打ち負かされていたかもしれない。しかし、神様はヨシュアに変わった命令をする。1日1回それを6日間、エリコの城壁を黙って歩き、7日目には7回周り、時の声を上げれば、城壁が崩れると言われた。そして、その通りになるのである。神様の命令は時にナンセンスに聞こえる。しかし、例え私達が意味不明でも、神様が言われることは現実に起こるのだ。

【適用】自分の知恵、理解に頼るのではなく、神様に頼ること。どんなにバカバカしく聞こえても、神様が言われたことは必ずなると信じる。

【祈り】主よ、私は時々、自分の知識や経験から物事を考え、あなたの言葉、約束がを信じられない時があります。そんな時、エリコの城壁の物語を思い出せますように。信仰をもって、あなたに信頼し、従う者になれますように。🙏

【Scripture】Joshua 6:20 NIV[20] When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. Joshua 6:20

【Observation】The city of Jericho was surrounded by strong walls. Since there were even houses inside the walls, we can imagine they were very thick. If they had attacked normally, the Israelites might have been defeated. However, God gave Joshua an unusual command. He told him to walk silently around the walls of Jericho once a day for six days, and on the seventh day, to walk around them seven times and shout, and the walls would collapse. And that is exactly what happened.God’s commands sometimes sound nonsensical. But even if we don’t understand it, what God says will come to pass.

【Application】Rely on God, not on your own wisdom or understanding. Believe that whatever God says will surely come to pass, no matter how ridiculous it may sound.

【Prayer】Lord, there are times when I think about things based on my own knowledge and experience, and I struggle to believe Your words and promises. In those moments, help me to remember the story of the walls of Jericho. May I become someone who trusts and obeys You with faith. 🙏
