【神を神とせよ！ Acknowledge God as God!】

【御言葉】8 「杖を取れ。あなたとあなたの兄弟アロンは、会衆を集めよ。あなたがたが彼らの目の前で岩に命じれば、岩は水を出す。彼らのために岩から水を出して、会衆とその家畜に飲ませよ。」10 モーセとアロンは岩の前に集会を召集し、彼らに言った。「逆らう者たちよ。さあ、聞け。この岩から、われわれがあなたがたのために水を出さなければならないのか。」11 モーセは手を上げ、彼の杖で岩を二度打った。すると、豊かな水が湧き出たので、会衆もその家畜も飲んだ。12 しかし、主はモーセとアロンに言われた。「あなたがたはわたしを信頼せず、イスラエルの子らの見ている前でわたしが聖であることを現さなかった。それゆえ、あなたがたはこの集会を、わたしが彼らに与えた地に導き入れることはできない。」民数記 20章 8, 10-12節

【観察】神はモーセとアロンに「杖を取れ。岩に命じれば、岩は水を出す。」と言われた。しかし、モーセは主に言われた通り杖を取ったが、主に言われた通り命じず、その杖で2度も岩を打った。その行為は不信頼であり、主を聖としない行為であった。そして、その行いにより、アロンもモーセも約束の地に入る前に天に召されることになる。私はここから何を学ぶべきなのだろうか。聖とは聖め分かつという意味がある。モーセは民に対する怒りの中、10節で主語が「われわれ」となっている。まるで自分達が神のような発言にも聞こえる。モーセは民に対して、まるで自分達が神であるかのような誤解を与えてしまったのかもしれない。それに加え、神様が「命じろ」と言われたのに、岩を2度打った。これは私達が思っている以上に大きなことであったので、モーセとアロンは約束の地にはいれなくなってしまったのだ。

【適用】私も神を神とするため、自分で自分の人生をコントロールすることを放棄し、自分の人生を神様に委ねる。神の言われることに従順になる。

【祈り】主よ、今日もあなたを神として生きます。あなたが私の神です。そして、私は人間です。時々、自分の人生をコントロールし、神のように振る舞うことがありますが、そんな時、聖霊様、私に教えてください。直ぐに悔い改めて、あなたを神とすることが出来ますように。🙏

【Scripture】Numbers 20:8, 10-12 NIV[8] “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”[10] He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” [11] Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. [12] But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”

【Observation】God told Moses and Aaron, “Take your staff. and speak to the rock then the water will come out.” But Moses took the staff as the Lord commanded, yet he did not speak to the rock as the Lord commanded. Instead, he struck the rock twice with the staff. This act was one of distrust and failure to honor the Lord as holy. Because of this, both Aaron and Moses would be taken from the land before entering the Promised Land. What should I learn from this? Holiness implies setting apart. In verse 10, amid his anger toward the people, Moses uses “we” as the subject. It almost sounds like he is speaking as if they were gods themselves. Moses may have given the people the mistaken impression that they were like gods. Furthermore, even though God said, “Command it,” he struck the rock twice. This was a far greater matter than we might realize, and because of it, Moses and Aaron were barred from entering the Promised Land.

【Application】I too will acknowledge God as God, abandoning my attempts to control my own life and entrusting it to Him. I will be obedient to what God says.

【Prayer】Lord, today I will live acknowledging You as God. You are my God. And I am human. Sometimes I try to control my own life and act as if I was God. At such times, Holy Spirit, please teach me. May I repent immediately and acknowledge You as God. 🙏
