【正しく恐れ、従う Rightly Fearing and Obeying the Lord】

【御言葉】33 おまえたちの子どもは、この荒野で四十年の間羊を飼う者となり、おまえたちがみな、屍となるまで、おまえたちの背信の責めを負わなければならない。34 おまえたちが、あの地を偵察した日数は四十日であった。その一日を一年と数えて、四十年の間おまえたちは自分の咎を負わなければならない。こうして、わたしへの反抗が何であるかを思い知ることになる。民数記 14章 33〜34節

【観察】聖書には私達が学ぶべきことが沢山書かれている。主は憐れみ深く、罪を赦してくださるお方だが、また同時に言われたことは確実に行うお方である。主に不平を言った二十歳以上の登録された者達全員が荒野で40年さまよい、自分の咎を負い、荒野で亡くなる。また彼らの子ども達も親の背信の責めを共に負い、40年荒野をさまようことになる。

【適用】もし私達がこの出来事から主に従う祝福と反抗の代価を学べば、彼らのようなことを経験せずに済むし、自分の子ども達にも影響せずに済む。また主に信頼するなら、ヨシュアやカレブのように約束の地に入れる。主を正しく恐れ、従おう。

【祈り】主よ、あなたに従う祝福と反抗の代価を知りました。私の罪が私達の子ども達にも影響することを知りました。主よ、あなたを正しく恐れ、反抗することなく、従う者とさせてください。高慢にならず、いつもあなたの御前でへりくだっていられますように。🙏

【Scripture】Numbers 14:33-34 NIV[33] Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness. [34] For forty years—one year for each of the forty days you explored the land—you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.’

【Observation】The Bible contains many lessons for us to learn. The Lord is merciful and forgives sin, yet He is also a God who faithfully carries out what He has spoken. All the registered men twenty years old and above who complained against the Lord wandered in the wilderness for forty years, bearing their own guilt, and died in the wilderness. Their children too would share the punishment for their parents’ disloyalty, wandering the wilderness for forty years.

【Application】If we learn from this event the blessing of obeying the Lord and the cost of rebellion, we can avoid experiencing what they did and spare our children from its effects. Moreover, if we trust in the Lord, we can enter the Promised Land like Joshua and Caleb. Let us fear the Lord rightly and obey Him.

【Prayer】Lord, I have learned the blessings of obeying You and the consequences of rebellion. I understand that my sins affect my children. Lord, make me one who fears You rightly, obeys without rebellion, and remains humble before You always. 🙏
