WE ARE OVERCOMERS IN THIS LIFE, BECAUSE JESUS INTERCEDES FOR US  DAILY

SCRIPTURE:

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”  37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:31—39 NIV)

OBSERVATION:

Paul ask seven questions in this passage of scriptures.  What, then, shall we say in response to these things?  What things, we may ask?  Before these selected verses, Paul was talking about comparing the present suffering and future glory.  Paul said, the PRESENT SUFFERING are not worth comparing with the glory of that future.  Paul talks about hope that we have in Christ.  He talks about the Spirit of God intercedes for us when we do not know how to pray.  And the good thing is, the SPIRIT OF GOD knows how to pray according to God’s will for us.

Moreover, Paul said that we know that IN ALL THINGS God works for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.  Paul said, believers have hope because no matter what happen in our lives, we know that IN ALL THINGS God is going to work it out for our good.  Since God is for us, who can be against us? How will God NOT along with Jesus graciously give us ALL things?  Since God is for us, who then condemns us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword separate us from Christ?

The big AFFIRMING ANSWER IS NO!  IN ALL THESE THINGS, we are MORE THAN CONQUERS through him who loves us.  NO, NO, NO, nothing shall SEPARATE me from the love of Jesus.  This is such an encouraging chapter.  So many times I focus on the wrong thing.  So many times I focus on the problem and allow its worries to overwhelmed and overcome me.

I love what Paul said, IN ALL THESE THINGS, that I think it’s going to SEPARATE me from Jesus love, will NOT HAPPEN.  NO ONE can condemn me, because Christ who died—more than that, who was raised from the dead, is at the right hand of God and is INTERCEDING FOR ME.  So NOTHING can overcome me when Christ is PRAYING AND INTERCEDING FOR ME DAILY.  This is so powerful to be reminded of.  People my forget to pray for me in my time of troubles, but I can count on Jesus interceding for me, thus I must overcome my troubles.

Nothing will overcome us when Christ is the one praying for us.  Paul said, I am CONVINCED that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is our joy, our hope and our strength to trust in Christ who is INTERCEDING for us when we face life’s trouble.  NO, NO, NO, NOTHING will ever separate us from the LOVE of Christ because he is interceding for us daily.

APPLICATION:

I am so encouraged through this knowledge and reminder from the Holy Spirit today that I am an overcomer because, IN ALL THINGS, God works for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.  Secondly, IN ALL THINGS, Jesus is INTERCEDING for me, thus, I am an overcomer in this world.  What a joy to be reminded of this truth that Jesus intercedes for me daily, the Holy Spirit intercedes for me daily and God my Father is working IN ALL THINGS and in every situation so I may overcome and have the upper hand in all my troubles.  I am convinced today that I will be able to overcome ALL situation and ALL problems life throughs at me because of the power of the triune God working on my behalf.

PRAYER:

Jesus, I am so honored and grateful to know that you are always interceding for me no matter problems I face in life.  Please remind me that there is no power that is too great will ever overcome me when you are praying for me.  Thank you for daily bearing my burden and been the strength of my life in every trouble I have faced.  Thank you for your grace and strength.  I love you Lord, for you have been good to me.  Amen!
