“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures, and the elders. 12 In a loud voice, they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”  13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!” 14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.”  (Revelation 5:11—14)

John’s experience while “in the SPIRIT” saw heaven’s worship in a whole new dimension.  John saw and heard the sound of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand.  Worship in heaven is laser-focused on Jesus and who He is.

The declaration of who Jesus is was felt and noted by all of heaven.  This is such a powerful image of what it is when I understand worship to be.  John saw not only what was happening with many angels, but he also heard every creature IN HEAVEN, and ON EARTH, and UNDER THE EARTH, and ON THE SEA, and ALL that is in them worship Jesus.

Praise and Worship of Jesus involves all creation.  We on earth are not the only ones who worship Jesus.  Even if believers forget to worship Jesus, all of heaven and all of creation are still singing and giving their adoration to Jesus.

I am reminded of King David’s words when he said, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  2 Day after day, they pour forth speech; night after night, they reveal knowledge.  3 They have no speech, they use no words;  no sound is heard from them.  4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” (Psalms 19:1—4)

The worship of Jesus is a powerful calling that I have as a believer.  All creation him.  John said, thousands upon thousands upon ten thousand of angels, and all creatures in heaven, and on earth, under the earth and on the sea worship Jesus.

I am grateful as I ponder how powerful it is to be on earth and yet be a part of all creation that worships Jesus, who is worthy of all the praises that are due him.

Today, I am reminded of how powerful it is to be a part of what the worship of Jesus is.  I am reminded not to take my worship of Jesus lightly.  Everything I do must be about honoring and exalting Jesus in my life.  We are worshippers who must worship him the way heaven does.  Worship is really not about me but Jesus, who is worthy of it all.

Lord, thank you for opening my eyes and letting me see what worship of you is all about.  Help me to be a worshipper that honors and glorifies you in everything that I do.  Help me to worship you in Spirit and in truth.  Lead me to your throne room so I may be able to worship you deeply.  Amen!
